Six Month Smiles Adult Braces blog update

Hi again.KL_25_11_14_opt

It’s been a couple of months since I last updated.  I did have an appointment in October, but it wasn’t a scheduled one…I’d had a curry and was going away, so went and got my donuts etc changed.

So today, it was just some minor adjustments.  Making sure that everything was moving in to place as expected.  Also had to have a bracket re-cemented…I tried to eat a chewy lollipop yesterday, that was a mistake and one I won’t make again!

Had both top and bottom wire changed today.

I had a few questions for Matt.  Mainly around my bite and the top front teeth (incisors).  When I bite together the gap between the top and bottom is quite big (it feels and looks that way to me anyway!) and also the top incisors feel uneven when I run my tongue along the back and bottom of the teeth.
Matt explained that the gap in my bite and the uneven feel is because my top teeth are so worn.  I’ve always been a nail biter (30 years!) and the teeth are worn by a third because of this.

:-(
So, when I get the braces off I’m going to need some restorative treatment, which we’re going to discuss in more detail at my next appointment.  I’m also going to not go back to biting my nails…something I’ve not done with the braces on.

Thanks for reading my blog, please feel free to comment and ask questions.

Kerry.
